Have you ever been to Zouk? Do you like it? Or you actually preferred some other clubs like Ministry of Sound, St. James Power Station (which I think is highly overrated), DXO or smaller ones like Home Club?
Like it or not, Zouk Singapore is ranked 10 in the top 50 clubs around the world in the year 2006. Voted by top Djs aound the world, the top 50 clubs is a poll conducted annually by DJmag. Surprisingly, Zouk Singapore is ranked higher than what many consider one of the top few clubs in the world, Ministry of Sound London.
I have lots of memories of Zouk, good, bad, and funny. It was wednesday night, mambo. I liked mambo, I wonder why my friends don’t. Anyway, the first time I went into the toilet, there was this guy who passed out drunk while peeing, at 11pm . The night hasn’t even started! In the end, me and a few other guys (all of whom complete strangers) have the drag him out, so as not to deprive others of a urinal. I even had to zip that joker’s jeans. What a way to start the night.
Through the night, I felt more like being stuck in the train during peak hours than being in a club. There is hardly enough space to move, I see adults that looked like 16 year olds, and jumping up and down on the spot were considered dancing.
I ended up leaving the place earlier, at 2am.
I’ve never gone clubbing for a while, even though I am able get free entries elsewhere. School’s starting soon, and I intend to do well for a better future.
But hey, I can always make exceptions here and there eh?
