3,700 bid farewell to National Stadium
3,700 people gathered at a Singapore sing-along at the National Stadium on Saturday night. This time, there were no goody bags. Instead, the 3,700 participants had paid $18 each to be there – just to say goodbye to the stadium. Some had no idea what they were singing as most of the over 30 songs were in Mandarin.
Sometimes, I love to be a Singaporean. It simply cracks me up to see people complaining about GST hikes on one day, then spending $18 to sit in the National Stadium singing chinese songs that they have never even heard of. No goodie bags, no nothing.
Come to think about it, this congregation sound like a cult gathering, singing songs about a stadium.
The National Stadium cult.
